I've read Jean's book, and have been watching her vision unfold in creating a new world. "The millionth circle" refers to the circle whose formation tips the scales and shifts planetary consciousness. The phrase comes from Jean Shinoda Bolen's book The Millionth Circle: How to Change Ourselves and The World, which in turn was inspired by "the hundredth monkey," the story that sustained anti-nuclear activists in the 1970-1980s to continue on when conventional wisdom said that nothing (certainly not ordinary people) could deter the nuclear arms race between the superpowers.

I plan on attending the 2012 conference. The purpose of their website is to help create a groundswell of support for a United Nations sponsored Fifth Women’s World Conference (5WWC) that in size and influence would be a major step toward a change in planetary consciousness through the active involvement of women at every level of society. The first four conferences were sponsored by the United Nations. The last was held in Beijing in 1995 and produced the Beijing Platform for Action, which if fully implemented on a global scale would make the world a safe place for women and children. This will be possible only when violence of all kinds—from domestic to war, is no longer acceptable.
